Had a great Christmas with my family! Worth a lot more than those presents that were under the Christmas tree. Life is good!

Vacation 2009
Just got back from camping in Virginia and I must say Grayson Highlands State Park was VERY nice! The park was very pretty! The trails, waterfalls, and cascades were simply beautiful! But a few words of advise ALWAYS expect cold weather even in the summer. The internet said it would be nice weather the days we were there... I started to get concern when we saw signs posted everywhere that said expect drastic weather changes.... It was so cold at night we could see our breathe and it rained the first night very hard. BUT that problem was solved with one trip to the gift shop. :) We LOVED the wild horses on the Rhododendron Trail! The views of the mountains in this park are breathtaking!

Summer is here!
Well, I think summer actually arrived early because it has been so hot the last few days and to think 2day is the first day of summer.... It could be worst. Florida was in the triple digits....
School has been out a few weeks and the kids are loving every second of BREAK time. Victoria and Zachary did so WONDERFUL and I am so happy of all their hard work. :) Congrads to both! Victoria got the science award. She loves her metal! Looks great in her collection of awards and Zach is very proud of his award as well!

VL is off to high school next year. The years go by to fast.
We went to the Nashville Zoo over the weekend. That zoo is expanding. Looking good! We also went to Stones River National Battlefield. The cleanup from the tornado is still not complete. So many trees down and a lot of the trail is closed off...
Congrads to Daniel and Heather on their award for completing the Small Fry Triathlon! They did GREAT! Heather really wanted the flower not the trophy though...

We also went to the Chattanooga Nature Center and the Chattanooga Zoo (Warner Park Zoo). Both are great places to visit. I have to admit the Warner Park Zoo has came a long way over the years. The last time we were there it was so small...

My mom celebrated her B day!

:) Life is good!

Memorial Day

Hope everyone took a moment to hold memorial observance for the fallen soldiers today.
Well, I got around to blogging before months passed bye. I am impressed. LOL
We went to Baker Falls yesterday. It is on private property;however, the owners let you visit it. They have built stairs down to an observation platform. It is very pretty! Baker Falls is a falls in Coffee County, Tennessee. It has an elevation of 997 feet. Parking is difficult though. We parked in the driveway of a house being built. After the owners move in, I think the only way to this falls will be through walking up someones driveway.... Kinda felt like I was trespassing....
We also went to Short Springs State Natural Area. We were going to hike to Machine Falls but decided to do this hike another day. We went on the Busby Falls loop instead. Bobo Creek was pretty and the Lower Busby Falls was pretty as well. To get a picture of this falls from the front is impossible due to the angle of the landscape. Insects were biting on overdrive here. LOL... AND we even had on spray repellent.
Check out this owl we saw when the kids went to this program at REI.

Pretty hard to believe this cute thing can kill a dog or cat... BUT according to the ranger it can and will....
We attempted camping in the backyard;however, it started raining and we had to bring the tent inside... BUT camping inside is ROCKS anyway.... :)

Heather stayed cool and we saw a double rainbow!

A little bit about my life... ;)
Time flies bye so fast... It has been 4-ever since I blogged. Well, school is about over. Just 2 more weeks.. Victoria will be out of middle school and Zachary will be in 6 grade.

We celebrated Easter. Victoria found real eggs. I don't know if they were bird eggs or what but they were on the ground.

The kids attempted building a raft from milk jugs and old trees;however, that didn't go as planned. But stay tuned for attempt number 2. LOL :) You know what Thomas Edison said,"Genius is one percent inspiration and 99 percent persperation."

Murfreesboro experienced a tornado.

We went to Ohio and saw lots and lots of corn fields...
The list goes on and on. BUT I can't share everything... LOL :) Life stays exciting! That is for sure..... Life is Good!
Daniel turned 4.
Heather turned 2.
We went to Stillhouse Hollow Falls.

Ok so it wasn't the destination we set out for this morning but it was very FUN! I think a membership is always a good idea because everything in this building is WONDERFUL!

I survived! :)

Today, I had my fatty tumor (lipoma) removed. It was bigger than thought to be. It was about the size of a softball. It was sent off to be tested for cancer. But I was told it wasn't before surgery but I suppose it is sent off to be tested just to confirm. I was lucky it was not grown into the muscle. So basically, it just popped out after being cut. Yes, it hurts but really it isn't even close to as bad as I had imagine. I go back in 2 weeks to have my stitches removed. I am not sure how many are there. JJ didn't ask and I was asleep. But after I remove the bandage I can probably tell. Hopefully, the scare will not be that bad and my nausea will be over soon.

Nashville Zoo At Grassmere

It is really amazing to see how much this zoo has grown over the last decade. I can remember taken Victoria when she was a toddler. Back then it was at its old location.... It is really a nice place to visit. BTW they are still expanding. :) Who knows they may even have as much as the Memphis Zoo someday...
My favorite animals here are the African elephants.. But I love it all even the anacondas you will find in the Unseen New World.. :)
